A native of the Channel Islands, Matt's style of painting is reminiscent of Keith Haring and the pop art movement exploring themes of primary and the primitive.

Drawing the subject from first hand encounters Matt disregards detail and conventional representation, using simple lines and colours to create a true and spontaneous depiction of the animal and its essence.

"I find animals fascinating, even magnetic. I choose to portray them in a direct way, like icons - similar to how they are depicted in cave art, but with a modern twist." Matt's work has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

The Animal Art Fair Spring Exhibition is at Stody Lodge, Melton Constable, Norfolk, NR24 2ER. Map Location
