Matt's work featured in the Art'chaeolgy exhibition at Eglise du Sepulcre In Caen, Normandy. The works on show were part of a group exhibition featuring 2 selected artists from 2 jurisdictions in Jersey and Normandy, France.

As the name suggests, the works on display focus on the subject of archaeology and is interpreted by different artists. Matt Falle, Karen Le Roy Harris, Fleur Helluin and Amelie Delauney all took part in extensive research excursions in the 2 jurisdictions.

For the first time, Matt has produced paintings in clay using natural methods and pigments.

'Archaeology and prehistory are subjects that I have great interest in regarding my artistic view. I've used clay and pigments direct from the ground to give authenticity and relevance to the artwork. The clay represents the ground the artefacts are found in, but also where we and our civilization will ultimately go.'

Art'chaeology was commissioned by Les Ateliers intermediaires and the Jersey Art House.
